If you are a regular and productive writer of articles, or even if you are just starting out on this lucrative path to free website traffic; make sure that you make the most of the uses that your articles can be put to.

Most article writers are content to submit their pieces to a few article directories and leave it at that. This is fine and obviously will be your main strategy, but there are other beneficial ways of using your own exclusive work.

Here are my top three:

1. Articles make great content for your site. One thing that ranks well with the major search engines is the depth and richness of a web site. When it comes to making sure that your site appears high up in the search results for your keywords, then building a new page for each of your articles and linking it to the rest of the site is a great strategy. As time goes on, you will have hundreds of pages of good, keyword-rich, relevant content, making your site a great destination for anyone interested in your niche.

   However, be careful to separate your work if you write in more than one niche. If you write on two widely different subjects, you don’t want to have them all linked to the same site; this will work against you. Build a site for each niche and keep the content consistent.

2. Articles make great autoresponder content. Any self respecting web master ought to have an opt-in list with an autoresponder sequence attached, to capture motivated subscribers. The articles you have written can easily be re-used to build high value free content for your autoresponder e-mails.

   Don’t worry about repeating yourself. Although a subscriber may have seen one of your articles before, it is highly unlikely that they will have seen more than a couple, so it is perfectly acceptable to use them in this way. Also, anyone who subscribed as a result of reading one article has already identified themselves as being interested in what you write about, so they are bound to be pleased to receive more in the same vein.

3. Articles can be easily turned into an e-book. All the internet gurus tell us that the best way to make money online is to create your own content. Have you been promising yourself that one day you will finish that e-book that is gestating in your mind? Did it occur to you that you might have already written it?

   Take a look back through your article portfolio. How much more writing would you have to do to make each one of those articles into a chapter of an e-book? Not much, I’ll bet. All you need in addition is an introduction and a conclusion and Hey Presto; your e-book is complete.
